There’s something incredibly powerful about turning 40—and these photos capture exactly what that moment feels like.
This session wasn’t about perfection. It wasn’t about rules, expectations, or playing small. It was about celebration. About confidence. About honoring the woman who has lived, loved, grown, learned, stumbled, risen, and arrived here—exactly as she is.
From the oversized “40” balloons floating overhead to the confetti frozen mid-air, this shoot was full of movement, laughter, and unapologetic joy. There’s playfulness here. Freedom. That exhale that comes when you stop worrying about who you’re supposed to be and start embracing who you already are.
And then there’s the laughter—the real, belly-deep kind. The kind that comes from being comfortable in your own skin. Lounging, celebrating, jumping, posing, tossing confetti… every frame tells the same story: this is what confidence looks like.
Milestone sessions like this are some of my absolute favorites to photograph because they’re not just about marking a number. They’re about honoring a season. A chapter. A woman who knows herself more deeply than she ever has before. Forty isn’t an ending—it’s a bold, beautiful continuation.
